The Birth of an Alien (El Nacimiento de un Extranjero)

"A desperate band of traveling immigrants must cross the Mexican border into the U.S. before one of them gives birth to an alien… both figuratively and literally."

I directed, produced, and edited The Birth of an Alien with an amazing team of cast and crew backing me up.

Master of the Sky: The Life and Art of Sam Koji Hale

"A compelling portrait of an inspiring and innovative artist transcending the boundaries of puppetry and filmmaking.

With his epic mythological storytelling, distinct mixed Japanese American aesthetic, and unique blend of live action tabletop puppetry and CGI animation, Sam Koji Hale leads a new generation of puppeteers who embrace film as he brings to fruition his vision and first feature Yamasong: March of the Hollows."

Master of the Sky: The Life and Art of Sam Koji Hale is the first film I ever directed. I also produced and edited it with support from my colleagues and mentors in UCLA's EthnoCommunications program. And I couldn't have done it without the cooperation of my brilliant friend Sam.

This Last Lonely Place - Trailer

I was an associate producer for this feature film starring Rhys Coiro, Xander Berkeley, and Carly Pope. This Last Lonely Place premiered at the Newport Beach Film Festival and went on to screen at Cannes.

Heart of Mind - Trailer

"A young couple’s love is tested in a singular moment of moral ambiguity.

En route to a momentous dinner in downtown LA, lovebirds HAUNANI GORDON and WILLIAM ELLIS are held at gunpoint by a thieving madman. What transpires blurs the line between innocent impulse and intimate betrayal, proving to be the ultimate test of love, trust, and expectation."

I directed, produced, wrote, and edited Heart of Mind through Visual Communications Armed with a Camera Fellowship for Emerging Media Artists. It aired on Comcast’s XFINITY On Demand for 2017’s Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and is available for streaming on CHOPSO this 2018.
